Description
The Naval Air Systems Command is rescinding the earlier request that sought sources to provide Organizational and Intermediate level aircraft maintenance for the T-2 aircraft and associated equipment used in the training of student naval aviators and undergraduate naval flight officers. Changes in operational requirements have resulted in a planned reduction of CNATRA?s T-2 aircraft. Commencing in FY03, a draw down program for the existing T-2 aircraft at NAS Meridian, MS will be implemented. This draw down will be completed in FY04 with the retirement of all T-2 aircraft at NAS Meridian. Naval Air Systems Command plans to negotiate a one-year sole source extension to the current contract, N00019-98-D-0107 with Sikorsky Support Services, Inc. to provide the needed maintenance and draw down support through FY04. It is presently undetermined how the T-2 and Search and Rescue (SAR) aircraft at NAS Pensacola, FL and the AIMD support tasks at Corpus Christi, TX will be supported beyond FY04. Any questions regarding this update should be directed to Matt Reilly, AIR-2.4.3.2.7 at (301) 757-8979 or Craig Simpson, AIR-2.4.3.2 at (301) 757-9062.
