Description
NA WORK SCOPE: Removal of lead paint from 3 static display aircraft to include the following: The successful bidder will: a. Furnish all required equipment and supplies to include filters, nozzles, hoses, bead media, plastic, etc. b. Completely strip and remove all paint coatings from three static display aircraft. c. Paint removal process will be of the bead or other media blasting process. d. Maintain complete containment of paint removal/blasting area i.e. completely enclose work area including the soil thru total encapsulation of each aircraft. e. All clear glass and plexi glass areas (canopies, camera lenses) will be masked off and covered as to protect them from the paint stripping process. f. High Efficiency Particulate Arresting (HEPA) vacuum system will be used to remove any free lead based paint and provide airflow through manufactured enclosure. g. Through the use of an independent analytical firm (laboratory) to provide Air Monitoring and Sampling before, during, and upon completion of work scope. Number of samples taken is dependent upon what is needed to provide adequate coverage throughout wo rk scope. h. Provide complete supervision and all labor throughout entire work scope i. Ensure all workers and supervisors to be certified in lead abatement training and follow state, federal, and local EPA/OSHA requirements in accordance with the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) and be in compliance with current medical exami nation requirements. j. Upon completion of work scope job sight will be clean and free of all hazardous waste material generated by contractor. k. Provide final disposal of all hazardous waste material l. Upon completion of work scope contractor will provide the KYANG documentation of all air monitoring and hazardous waste disposal. m. The 123rd MXS Commander or designee prior to contractor departure will give final approval of completed work. NOTE: Prior to start of work scope all companies involved will provide the KYANG with all Certifications, Registrations, and Accreditations, required by the state of Kentucky, EPA, and the local Air Pollution Control District of Jefferson County. Time allotted for this project is 7 to 10 working days per aircraft weather permitting.
