Description
The Agency for Public Health and Science (OPHS), Office on Women?s Health (OWH), through the Division of Acquisition Management (DAM), Program Support Center (PSC), intends to award a 18 month sole contract using simplified acquisition procedures, to the St Paul Ramsey County Department of Health, Capitol View, 70 County Road B2, Little Canada, MN 55117. The anticipated date of award is September 9, 2002. The purpose of this contract is to fund a Community-Based Demonstration Project for Breastfeeding, that will promote breastfeeding among first-time mothers. The goal of this contract is to increase the rates of exclusive breastfeeding (at initiation and for the duration of 6 months) by 2% above the national average. Further, the vendor awarded this contract will provide assistance to the Office on Women's Health (OWH) within the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) in launching a pilot effort to implement and fund a Community-Based Demonstration Project for Breastfeeding that will promote breastfeeding among first-time mothers. Planning and program design, development of a work plan, design of group sessions/events, educational and resource materials, community resources, program personnel, program participants The goals of the contract are to be accomplished by the provision of these three essential services: The contractor shall submit the following items in the quantities and during the time periods indicated below to the Project Officer, and the Project Officer will provide two copies to the OWH Central Office. Detailed Work Plan, Quarterly Reports, draft final report to include final report The proposed simplified acquisition is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of far 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest by responding to the requirement within 10 days after the date of publication of this notice. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed simplified acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. No solicitation is available.
