Description

The North American Industry Classification System size standard is corrected to read $6.0 million vice $66,000. The Fleet and Industrial Supply Center (FISC) Norfolk Detachment Philadelphia intends to modify existing contract N00140-98-C-G309 with SIMCO Electronics to provide an additional six (6) months of Calibration Maintenance and Material Support Services to support the Fleet Training Center, San Diego, California, beginning 1 October 2002 and ending 31 March 2003. This action is required to provide continuity of services pending a determination by the Government on the need for a follow-on contract. SIMCO Electronics is considered the only supplier of these services at this time with the expertise, equipment and facilities that can support the immediate needs of the Government without a costly start-up period. The proposed contract action is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or to submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, the Government will consider all proposals received within forty-five days after the date of publication of this synopsis. Information received as a result of this notice of intent will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract extension based upon responses to this notice is solely with the discretion of the Government. The Government will not pay for information received.
