- NA RESPONSE DATE: SEPTEMBER 6,2002 SUBPART: SUPPLIES, EQUIPMENT AND MATERIAL OFF ADD: Department of Veterans Affairs, Contracting Officer, 90C, VA Medical Center, Bldg 41, 2200 Fort Roots Drive, North Little Rock, AR 72114-1706 SUBJECT: Provide & Install Air Conditioning Equipment SOL: 598-108-02 POC: Donna Landrum DESC: Notice of intent to make a sole source award to Trane, Little Rock, AR. Notice of intent to make a sole source award to Trane for the following units and service: 25 Ton Condensing Unit- Model RAUCC254E AHU For 25 Ton Condensor Model MCCB021 15 Ton Condensing Unit Model TTA180B400 2.5 Ton Unitary Split System Model TTA-030C400TWE030C140B 3.5 Ton Unitary Split System Model TTA-042D400TWE042C140C Helicopter lift and set up Labor The equipment is to be provided and installed at John L. McClellan Veterans Memorial Hospital, 4300 West 7th Street, Little Rock, AR 72205. This equipment is critical to elevator service and old equipment has already caused many elevator service interruptions, directly impacting patient care. A/C equipment serving the elevator penthouse at the Little Rock campus has numerous leaks & mechanical problems which are uneconomical to repair and require replacement. The equipment needs to be Trane in order to adapt to existing control scheme and duct work. Using another brand of equipment would require alteration of both controls and duct work resulting in doubling of the cost of change out.
