- 11TH Annual Symposium Announcement - The Tidewater Government & Industry Council (TGIC), Old Dominion University (ODU), and the Tidewater Association of Service Contractors (TASC) announce their eleventh annual symposium. The symposium entitled: PREPARING THE WARFIGHTER - A REGIONAL PERSPECTIVE will be held at the Renaissance Hotel, Portsmouth, VA on Thursday, 21 November 2002. The symposium is particularly relevant and will focus on the major efforts, and changes within Government and Industry in our region to support the nation's efforts abroad as well as homeland defense. As always, the symposium presents a vigorous program of high-level speakers, panel discussions, and audience interaction that further educates and bonds the team efforts of Government and Industry professionals in our highly active regional environment. Displays in the symposium exhibit hall by major commands and agencies, as well as the defense industry, further present their organizations' efforts and contributions toward warfighting and our nation's defense. This Symposium will also feature panel discussions that will bring together several conference speakers in interactive panels to engage in a lively and thoughtful discussion with the conference delegates. The invited speakers include Mr. John Young from ASN (RD&A), RADM Kevin Moran from Task Force EXCEL, Mr. Mark Lumer from PARC U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command.
