- Negotiations are anticipated to be conducted with Applied Physics Lab, University of Washington (APL/UW), 1013 NE 40th Street, Seattle, WA 98105 for scientific, engineering, and technical support services required for design, development, fabrication, upgrade, test, repair, fleet implementation, and documentation of the AN/UNQ-9 Tactical Data Recorder System. Numbered Note 22 applies to the extent that the proposed action is for support services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. APL/UW designed the AN/UNQ-9 and has extensive experience in supporting tactical recording programs including AN/BQH-5, AN/BQH-9, and AN/BQH-10. Failure to respond to fleet recording needs within the timeframes required would delay or limit fleet implementation of commonality of tactical data recording systems among submarin e classes. The period of performance will be for a total of five years. The NAICS code that applies to this procurement is 541330. The FSC code that applies to this procurement is AC33. The Request for Proposal (RFP) shall be released on or about 30 September 2002 with a closing date of 30 days thereafter.
