- Description
- The Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division, Detachment Norfolk (NSWCCDDN) is a full spectrum research, development, test and evaluation, engineering, logistics, and technical support center for all types of combatant craft, boats, and watercraft for the Department of Defense and maritime community. The customer base for NSWCCDDN services includes the US Navy, The Special Operations Command, The US Army, The US Marine Corps, The US Coast Guard, and the maritime community. The resultant contract shall provide support services for the test and evaluation of experimental boats and watercraft on various projects and or various locations worldwide. Projects include operator support for military and emergency salvage and rescue operations; providing emergency medical technicians (EMT's) to support emergency procedures; and underwater inspection of hull, bilge keels, shaft s, struts and propellers. The requirement anticipates mostly single boat operations. However, as many as four teams may be required in separate locations to support testing. Craft ranges from small inflatable watercraft up to 100 foot patrol craft including speeds from under four knots up to fifty knots. Work performed under this contract will be under the technical cognizance of the NSWC, Carderock Division, Detachment Norfolk, Combatant Craft Department (Code 23), 116 Lake View Parkway, Suite 200, Suffolk, Virginia 23435-2698. This procurement is being conducted under Full and Open Competition procedures. The source selection process for this procurement will be the Best Value method. The NAICS classification code for this procurement is 54171 with a size standard of 500 employees. The anticipated contract from this action will be a five (5) year combination I D/IQ, Time and Material type contract with approximately a total of 20,000 labor hours worth of effort over the 5-year period.
