- The National Institute of Standards & Technology (NIST) plans to issue an order on a sole source basis to Cryonix Inc., Rockville, MD 20852, under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b). The purpose and objective of this requirement is to provide off-site storage of 5 NIST-owned Ultra Cold Freezers. Croyonix is the only local full service freezer repository with flexible client access, which consists of login and identification pass entry. Their facility also maintains a vacant lab area, which NIST can inventory and work on their products. Cryonix maintains vacant freezer space and performs preventative maintenance and repairs to prevent mechanical failure. The period of performance will be a base year of October 1, 2002 through September 30, 2003 with 4 1-year option years. The anticipated award date of the order is on or about 10 days from the date of this notice. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations. Interested persons may identify their intent and capability to respond to the requirement no later than the response date above. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to the notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. For information, call the POC identified below.
