- Description
- DARPA intends to enter into a contract with General Atomics for research and development pertaining to remote, battery powered sensor networks. These networks can be utilized for a variety of military purposes including hostile personnel detection. The General Atomics proposal makes innovative use of the Spectral Keying (TM) UWB radar method toward this end. The result is a sensor network that can provide live, real time video of hostile personnel intrusions, is covert, active for extended periods and resistant to false alarms. General Atomics is the only vendor known to make use of the innovative Spectral Keying (TM)UWB radar method to develop sensors that would serve as the foundation of a network with the characteristics described above. This method provides a number of unique advantages over current UWB radar technology. This notice is for informational purposes only. This notice is not a Request for Proposals (RFP). Contractors capable of offering their service must respond within 45 days after publication of this notice by submitting a specific capability statement to provide the service. All responses received within 45 days after publication of this notice will be considered by the Government solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
