Description
QUESTIONS & ANSWERS Q: We quote our generator rates based on run time. Your RFQ specified dates from Sep. 10, 02 - Nov. 9, 02, however it did not specify the duty cycle. Should we infer these generators will be running 24 hours per day, and if so who is responsible for maintenance? A: We anticipate the generators will be run an average of 16 hours per day, 7 days a week. The government/end user will start and stop the generators as needed, will add fuel as needed, will check level/add oil as needed, and will check level/add coolant as needed. Q: Should we submit our bid based on hourly or daily rates? A: You may submit your bid based on your standard practice. In any case, the bid should be based on a 16-hour run day with each generator separately priced. Q: Can the 60KW unit be substituted with a 50KW unit? A: Yes Q: Will the contractor be dropping the generators off at one central location or at various locations on the base? A: The generators will be delivered to Building 8425 yard (corner of Utah Ave. and Sixth Street.), will be unloaded from the truck, and will be placed on the ground. Q: Who will unload the generators from the delivery truck? A: The contractor will be responsible for unloading the generators. Q: Will there be a forklift at the delivery location to help unload the generators? A: No, the contractor will be responsible for providing necessary equipment. The government will instruct delivery personnel on exact locations in the yard where the generators will be placed. Q: What is meant by military hitch? A: This type hitch is also known as a pintle hitch. Q: Regarding the request for 200kw generators. Can you clarify the total loads on the generators in amperage. This will allow me to determine if our 176kw (194kw standby rating) generators will apply. A: The 200 KW generator can be replaced by a 176 KW generator Q: Regarding the request for 60kw generators. Can you clarify the total loads on the generators in amperage. This will allow me to determine if our 56kw (60kw standby rating) generators will apply. A: The 60 KW generator can be replaced by a 56 KW generator Q: Are state registration cards for the generators required? A: The State of California requires generators operating on the base to have a current state registration card. Q: Who will be responsible for repairs? A: The contractor will be expected to repair or replace units that break down.
