Description
The U.S. Department of Commerce, NOAA has a requirement for DRY DOCK repairs and modifications. This acquisition is for DRY DOCK repairs to the NOAA Ship Gordon Gunter, a 224 foot, 43 ft beam (molded); propulsion diesel electric twin screw, 4 ea. MDGs Caterpillar D398B diesel engine driven 600 kW, 600 volt, 60 Hz. AC generators, and 2 ea. 800 HP @ 185 RPM direct-connected DC motors, and 1 ea. 550 HP Bow Thruster motor @ 1200 RPM; 450 VAC, 60 Hz, 3 phase, 800 Amp Service; crew size - 19. Vessel's homeport is Pascagoula, MS. All work will be performed at contractor's facility. The performance period will be 110 calendar days with a start date on or about December 2, 2002 and shall be completed on or before March 21, 2003. Basic contract items include but are not limited to temporary services; drydocking and routine drydock work; sea valve and isolation valve overhauls; underwater hull preservation and coating, ground tackle inspections; ABS load line survey; bow thruster inspections; propeller and tail shaft inspections; MDG engine overhauls and inspections; subchapter U modifications; engineering alarm and monitoring system retrofit modifications; generator control retrofit modifications; bridge wing control installations; EK60 transducer modifications; ADCP system installations; HVAC Duct Cleaning; TLI transmitter cable renewals; J-frame and A-Frame inspection and repairs; ship's store freezer drain piping repairs and AC chill water pump overhauls. Foreseeable costs will be applied for contract evaluation. All work shall be performed in accordance with detailed specifications to be provided. Vessel will be available for inspection September 13 - 16, 2002 at Gulf Marine Support Facility Pascagoula, MS. At the present time, this acquisition will be issued as a RFP under full and open competition procedures. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the agency.
