- Description
- This synopsis announces the scheduled availablility of the solicitation for this project. The work will include the demolition of an existing greenhouse and the construction of a new 6-bay greenhouse attached to an existing headhouse. The base bid includes four bays, and two options include one additional bay each. A third option includes a corridor, which will be required if either or both of the first two options are accepted. Demolition will be the complete removal of the existing greenhouse. This will include the disconnecting and removing of all electrical work associated with the greenhouse, including but not limited to lighting, receptacles, power to mechanical equipment, and service conductors. All existing structural elements will be removed from the project site. Some asbestos containing material must be removed. Reconstruction includes the erection of a new greenhouse with pre-finished, aluminum-faced, insulated panel knee walls and a concrete slab-on-grade. Two plant bays will be air-conditioned and sealed using positive pressure in the bays, and a separate corridor space for insect and plant bays, at a lesser positive pressure, to prevent contamination of the plant bays. The insect bays will be evaporative cooled and will not be sealed. Disciplines include architectural, structural, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical. The estimated price is expected to be between $250,000 and $500,000, for the base bid and any combination of options.
