- Description
- The work involves furnishing of all labor, materials, equipment, and services necessary to rehabilitate four freight elevators and four passenger elevators, in accordance with USPS approved specifications and drawings. Only one of each type may be worked on at a time. Elevator specific work comprises the addition of SCR-DC drive motors or Microprocessor based logic hydraulic units for car mobility, new hoistway/car/machine room wiring, traveling cable both power and telecommunications including wiring for future CCTV, car and hoistway doors; Fire Protection Service with elevator and in-car operation, elevator pit renovation including new sump pumps and other elevator specific work. Non-elevator specific work is required. This work comprises the enlargement of existing doorways, creation of new doorways, adding of louvers into existing walls and other duties. New air exhaust fan units will be installed in the four elevator machine rooms servicing the eight elevators. Electrical demolition and installation of new equipment including conduit, wire, switches, transformers and panelboards will be required. The estimated cost range is between $2,600,000 and $2,800,000 with construction completion within 540 calendar days from receipt of notice to proceed. Award will be based on price and evaluation factors as outlined in the solicitation package. The contractor must be licensed for this type of work in the state where the work is to be performed. Plans and specifications will be available from the printer on or about August 15, 2002, at a cost of $75 per set (non-refundable). Make check or money order payable to Duncan-Parnell, Inc.
