- NASA/GSFC plans to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for the following items: (1) IDEAS TMG A060 TMG Thermal Software Renewal and Maintenance. (2) IDEAS TMG A061 TMG Radiation Software Renewal and Maintenance. (3) IDEAS TMG A060 TMG Thermal Software and Maintenance (two new licenses). (4) IDEAS TMB A061 TMG Radiation Software and Maintenance (two new licenses). The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12, and is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP), set forth in FAR Part 13. NASA/GSFC intends to purchase the items from Maya Simulation, because Maya is the only producer and distributor of this software, which is a unique engineering software package that is necessary for Goddard Space Flight Center's product thermal design and analysis. The Authority is 10 U.S.C.2304(c)(1), Only One Responsible Source. Interested organizations may submit their ability to fulfill the listed line items in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on 09/10/02. Such abilities will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. An Ombudsman has been appointed.
