- **** This modification serves to add additional information on the minimum requirements for the concrete and backfill being requested. Line Item number 1 for the concrete is being requested for 215 yd. Item #2- 230 yd. Item #3- 164 yd. Item #4- 60 hours. The amount of backfill being requested is 2500 tons. No fax or electronic proposals will be accepted for this solicitation. Please send proposals to NOAA/Acquisition Management Division, 7600 Sandpoint Way NE, Seattle, WA, 98115. All other terms and conditions of the original proposal remain the same.***** This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items as prepared in accordance with the format in FAR subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; a written solicitation will not be issued. This is Solicitation Notice No. AB133W-02-RP-0115. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular No. 97-25. The National Weather Service (NWS) Data Collection Office, Hilo, Hawaii requires the purchase of concrete and backfill to be used in site preparation and building of concrete shells for an observatory and balloon inflation buildings. Concrete supplied must meet the following requirements: 1. 4,000PSI, Mix 3/4" fine for columns, beams and roof decks. 2.Concrete, ready-mix, 4,000 PSI, delivered for foundations, slabs, and concrete footings. 3. Concrete, grout-mix, 3,000 PSI, 3/4" fine pump mix. 4. Pumping equipment, hoses and operator are required as well as concrete and grout pumping service. Offers shall submit separate prices for each number for the concrete as stated above as well as an additional price for delivery to the Hilo International Airport site. Backfill supplied must meet the following requirements: ASTM D-2487 and Screen analysis chart. Specific Gravity: 2.65. Moisture: 9%. Unit Weight or dry density: 136.0 PC. Liquid Limit: 28. Plastic Index: 0-6. Percent Passive Sleeve Size 1?" = 100%, 3/4"= 87%, 3/8"=57%, 4=43%, 10=27%, 40=14%, 100=9%, 200=6%, and SE=25%. Offers shall include separate prices for the supply of backfill which meets the specified requirements and for delivery to the Hilo International Airport site. Delivery to Hilo International Airport site must be made no later than November 1, 2002. The proposal shall prepared in accordance with FAR 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors- Commercial Items, and the offer shall include a completed copy of the provision at FAR 52.212-3, Offeror Representations and Certifications-Commercial Items. FAR clause 52.212-4, Contract Terms and Conditions- Commercial Items, applies to this acquisition and there are no addenda to this provision. FAR 52.212-5, Contract terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statutes or Executive Orders-Commercial Items is applicable. Include the additional clauses 52.222-21; 52.222-26; 52.222-35; 52.222-36; 52.222-37; 52.223-9 (Alt. 1); 52.232-34. Proposal must be received no later than 2:00 PM, Pacific Time, August 16, 2002.
