- Description
- The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Gaithersburg, Maryland, has a requirement for concrete restoration and leak proofing on the ceiling structure in Building 231. The repair requires the use of specifically engineered products for restoration and sealing of concrete, repairing concrete cracks, cleaning, steel protections, and penetrations. The concrete to be repaired is continuously exposed to various environmental elements; i.e., temperatures in excess of 85 degrees, very high humidity, various corrosive chemical liquids, and heavy dynamic loading from the paper mill equipment, which is located above this ceiling concrete slab. The period of performance for this work is anticipated at 21 days, and it is required that this work be performed, accepted, and billed by September 30, 2002. A complete statement of work shall be issued with the Request for Quotation (RFQ) and a site visit is anticipated to be performed. - This requirement is being procured using the simplified procedures identified in the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13, as supplemented by FAR Part 36, Construction and Architect-Engineer Contracts, and the full solicitation package. - The procurement is 100% set aside for small business. The NAICS code is 235710, the SIC is 1771 and the size standard is $11.5M. - The magnitude of construction is anticipated between $25,000 and $100,000. - Contract award will be made on the basis of the best value to the Government with price, technical, and past performance factors considered. The RFQ, amendments, and all questions and answers related to this procurement will be made available via the Internet at http://www.fedbizops.gov/. The RFQ is anticipated to be released on or about August 19, 2002 and will only be available via the Internet at the above web site. Potential offerors are responsible for accessing the web site. Interested parties must respond to the RFQ in order to be considered for award. There is no written RFQ available, and telephone requests will not be honored. Potential offerors are required to direct all questions, via e-mail to Joan.Smith@nist.gov. All responsible sources may submit a quotation, which shall be considered by the agency.
