- Description
- NASA/KSC plans to issue a Sole Source Request for Quotation (RFQ) for 16 CS900 Port Console Servers from Veytec, Inc., 3855 St. Valentine Way, Orlando, FL 32811. These Console Servers are currently is use by this project and an extensive amount of work has already been performed in fabricating custom cables in order for the CS900 to communicate with the Simulator Processor Units (SPU). This is the only known vendor that can provide these servers to ensure the compatibility of the existing system. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested firms other than the sole source cited have 6 days from the publication of this synopsis/solicitation to submit in writing to the identified point of contact, their qualifications/capabilities and quotes, providing a description in sufficient detail to show that the product offered meets the Government's requirement. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. An Ombudsman has been appointed.
