Description
The National Park Service, Golden Gate National Recreation Area, San Francisco, is soliciting quotations on a competitive basis from qualified organizations to enter into a firm fixed price contract to remove approximately one and one-half acres of Eucalyptus trees from GGNRA property downslope from Vista del Valle and Via Recodo in the Tamalpais Valley area of Marin County, California. The project includes approximately 350 Eucalyptus trees in two distinct stands of 0.623 and 0.813 acres, all of various sizes ranging from under 4 dbh to over 30 dbh. The trees can be removed by toppling or cutting; cut trees shall be treated by the contractor with a National Park Service approved herbicide (Garlon). The contractor will be required to accomplish this task including the chipping or grinding and removal of slash, without impacting the adjacent Evironmentally Sensitive Area. The associated North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 561730. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR CONSIDERATION: The offerer must demonstrate (extensive, sufficient, appropriate) experience in the following, and must provide references for similar projects completed. 1. Tree removal on slopes and in environmentally sensitive areas (preferably conducted on public lands such as parks and forests) 2. Removal of stumps as well as trees 3. Application of pesticides (Garlon) in the correct and appropriate manner, and in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations 4. Safe and effective use of power tools and heavy equipment proposed for this project 5. Erosion control and general hydrology 6. If trees are felled (as opposed to toppled), stumps must be treated by a certified pesticide applicator (show proof of certification) 7. Experience working on projects where environmentally sensitive areas and private land/residences are in close proximity The National Park Service welcomes the participation of small, minority, veteran, and women owned enterprises.
