- Description
- The Office of Isotopes for Medicine and Science with the Department of Energy has a performance based requirement for transportation services to deliver Type A isotopes from international production facilities (Faure, South Africa; Trositsk, Russia; and Mol Belgium ) to DOE?s National Laboratories (New York, New Mexico, or Tennessee) Shipments may also be made domestically between New York, New Mexico and Tennessee. It is anticipated that shipping origins and destinations may be expanded to include Villigen, Switzerland; MOL, Belgium; and other locations not currently identified The transportation contractor shall be responsible for all auxiliary services that are necessary logistically for the delivery of shipments. These services include insurance on the isotopes and their containers, required licensees and permits and customs brokerage services for international deliveries. The anticipated release date of the Request for Proposal is August 26, 2002. An indefinite quantity/indefinite delivery contract is contemplated with delivery orders being issued on a cost reimbursement basis The performance period shall consist of a one-year base period with four 12 months options This requirement is totally set-aside for small business.
