Description

The Office for Civil Rights (OCR), Region III of the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is responsible, in Region III for the DHHS Initiative to Eliminate Racial and Ethnic Health Disparities by the Year 2010. The OCR has agreed to co-sponsor the 3rd Annual National Minority Health Leadership Summit with the University of Pittsburgh and intends to solicit and negotiate a simplified acquisition on a sole source basis with the University of Pittsburgh, Graduate School of Public Health, Center for Minority Health (CMH), 125 Parra Hall, 130 DeSoto Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15261. Specifically, the CMH drawing from baseline information developed during the two previous summits shall furnish all necessary personnel, facilities, equipment, materials and supplies to produce the 3rd Annual National Minority Health Leadership Summit: Eliminating Racial and Ethnic Health Disparities. The summit will be held from January 8 to 10, 2003. The period of performance is approximately 24 weeks from date of award. This requirement is justified under the terms of FAR Part 13 - Simplified Acquisitions. CMH was responsible for producing the 1st and 2nd National Minority Health Summits and is uniquely qualified, due to its past performance in this field, to complete this work successfully.
