- The National Park Service, Department of the Interior, is soliciting proposals for construction firms having the capability to perform the work described below. The solicitation, on the Department of Interior's National Business Center (NBC) website, at http://ideasec.nbc.gov. Paper copies of this solicitation will not be made available. Prospective offerors desiring to conduct business with DOI are requested to register at the National Business Center. Proposal documents will be available only at the NBC web site. Offerors wishing to receive electronic notification of changes will need to register to receive notification of this specific solicitation at http://ideasec.nbc.gov. This service is provided for convenience only and does not service as a guarantee of notification. Subscribers to this service are ultimately responsible for reviewing the http://ideasec.gov site for all information relevant to this solicitation. Plan holders will be required to visit this website periodically to check for amendments and other changes to the contract documents. No other notifications will be sent. Title of this project is Whiskeytown National Recreation Area, Road Base. The contractor shall provide all equipment to deliver/transport 1-1/2 inch class 2 road base (crushed granite angular rock with fines per Cal-Trans specifications) to Peltier Valley Road via Shasta Bally Road. Contractor shall spread material by truck(s) on roadway to allow a National Park Service grader and operator to grade road base material to a thickness of 4 inches and along a 10 foot wide average width of roadway. The approximate length of roadway on Peltier Valley Road is 1.8 miles. Contractor will work with National Park Service operators to spread road base material in the needed locations. Enough time shall be allowed for NPS operators to spread material if needed so that contract trucks can drive back over dumped material. National Park Service will close Peltier Valley Road during construction and provide signs along Shasta Bally Road for public notice of equipment operation. The applicable North American Classification System (NAICS) Code is 327991. Requests for Quotations will be available o/a August 16, 2002 on the Department of Interior's website at http://ideasec.nbc.gov. A firm-fixed price contract will be awarded.
