Description
The U.S. Department of Agriculture, Agriculture Research Service, National Animal Disease Center intends to negotiate solely with Micromass Inc., Beverly, MA to furnish, deliver (FOB Destination) and install one (1) Micromass/Waters Cap LC system as an accessory for a Micromass Q-Tof Ultima API mass spectrometer, Serial Number UD488 (currently owned) for the National Animal Disease Center (NADC) Ames, IA. This capillary LC system is used for close coupling of the capillary separation module with a mass spectrometer to minimize system dead volume and improve chromatographic performance at low (less than 1uL/min) flow rates. Design of the system will be such that the separation module can be attached directly to the source of a Micromass Q-Tof Ultima API mass spectrometer (currently owned) and the chromatographic column can be introduced directly into the electrospray interface. Specific requirements for this system include (a) Solvent Delivery System, with three (3) independently programmable positive displacement capillary pumps with digitally controlled motor/plunger drives and active check valves, minimum programmable flow rate of 0.10 to 40 uL/min in 0.01 uL/min increments, ternary solvent blending for isocratic or gradient methods, and preprogrammed gradient curves and an automatic vent valve (b) Integrated Autosampler with flexible format, Micromass MassLynx controlled and supported sample injection, supported automated needle wash, and Peltier based sample plate temperature control (c) Modified Nanoflow End Flange that can be fitted to Micromass Q-Tof Ultima API mass Spectrometer mounted with a MassLynx controlled ten port solvent divert valve, a precolumn holder plus tow cartridges, a zero dispersion "nanoT", a low volume sample filter, and a low volume Valco mixing T. Companies with demonstrated capability and financial capacity to provide and service such equipment must submit a written substantive statement outlining the company's and system's capabilities to the Contracting Officer within 15 days of publication of this notice. This is not a request for proposal nor is a solicitation available. NOTE: THIS NOTICE WAS NOT POSTED TO FEDBIZOPPS.GOV ON THE DATE INDICATED IN THE NOTICE ITSELF (25-JUN-2002). IT ACTUALLY FIRST APPEARED ON THE FEDBIZOPPS SYSTEM ON 05-AUG-2002. PLEASE CONTACT fbo.support@gsa.gov REGARDING THIS ISSUE.
