Description
The Precision Strike System Program Office (WMG), Contracting Directorate, Air Armament Center (AAC), Eglin AFB, Florida, intends to issue a contract to Eagle-Picher Technologies, LLC in Joplin, Missouri for the production of 10 (ten) EP-1025 and 10 (ten) EP-1005 Flight Termination System batteries, which are necessary to support the AGM-130, FY 2003, Weapon System Evaluation Program (WSEP) test requirements. Eagle-Picher designed these batteries and is currently the only known source for operable manufacturing capability that can meet specified delivery dates. An ombudsman has been appointed to address concerns from offerors or potential offerors during the proposal development phase of this acquisition. The Ombudsman does not diminish the authority of the program director or contracting officer, but communicates contractor concerns, issues, disagreements, and recommendations to the appropriate Government personnel. When requested, the Ombudsman will maintain strict confidentiality as to the source of the concern.
