- The United States Coast Guard, MLC Atlantic intends to issue a one-year firm fixed price Indefinite Delivery/Definite Quantity contract for the installation of government furnished Notifier Fire Alarm/Flooding Systems in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items, and FAR Subpart 13.5, Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. The Request for Quotations (RFQ) will be issued on or about August 14, 2002 via the Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOpps) web site at http://www.eps.gov. The RFQ number is DTCG80-02-Q-3FAN16. Hard copies of the RFQ will not be issued. It is incumbent upon contractors to monitor the FedBizOpps site for RFQ release and all subsequent amendments. This RFQ is issued as a 100% Small Business Set-Aside. The North American Industrial Classification Code is 334290, and the small business size standard is 750 employees. This acquisition is for the installation of government furnished Notifier Fire Alarm/Flooding Systems. These systems will be installed on Coast Guard cutters consisting of a tender and a barge. Tenders are 65 or 75 foot in length, and barges are 68 foot, 84 foot, 90 foot, 99 foot, or 130 foot. All work will be performed at each cutters homeport located throughout the following states: TX, LA, FL, SC, MD, MS, AR, OK, MO, NE, IA, IL, TN, KY, PA, and AL. The government may award more than one contract as a result of this request for quotations. All interested small businesses may submit a quote, which shall be considered by the Coast Guard. The government will award a firm fixed price contract resulting from this RFQ to the responsible quoter(s) whose conformance to the RFQ will be most advantageous to the government, price and other factors considered. Quotes are due by 4:00 PM EDT, August 29, 2002. ATTENTION: Minority, Women-owned, and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE). The Department of Transportation Short-Term Lending Program (STLP) offers working capital financing in the form of lines of credit to finance accounts receivable for transportation related contracts.
