Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) proposes to negotiate on a sole source basis, under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), with Infrared Laboratories, Tucson, AZ, for acquisition of a Model HDL-12 / Martinis/Nam Option Dewar. The dewar will be part of a system to test superconducting devices. NIST currently owns five of the custom Martinis/Nam Option dewars that are part of the test system. An identical unit is needed to expand the system and must be configured internally to accommodate custom refrigeration units, cryostats, sensor mounts, flexible wiring, EMI shielding and electronics specific to the NIST experiments. This notice is being issued for information purposes only. No competitive solicitation is planned. Information submitted in response to this notice will be used solely to determine whether or not use of competitive procedures to fulfill this requirement would be in the Government's best interest. This procurement is being conducted under FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures (NTE $100K). The anticipated award date is August 27, 2002.
