Description
The USDA Forest Service is holding a one-day vendor conference to discuss its requirements for Products and Services to be procured under the FOREST SERVICE COMPUTER BASE program for Fiscal Years 03-07. This program was previously known as Project 615. Interested vendors are invited to attend. ***paragraph*** The conference will be held at the Arlington Temple Community Center in Rosslyn, Virginia. The community center is located at 1835 North Nash Street, Arlington VA 22209. The conference will begin at 9:00 AM, Tuesday, August 13, 2002. No registration is necessary. ***paragraph*** The products and services that are being solicited are in three categories: ***paragraph*** NAICS 3341 Commodity computer hardware: desktops, laptops and peripherals including related software and services. The Forest Service intends to procure these items under Part 8 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation by issuing multiple Blanket Purchase Agreements to vendors holding GSA contracts for these items. Award will be made to multiple vendors and an annual best-value assessment will determine the primary vendor for the year. Only holders of current GSA contracts will be considered for award. ***paragraph*** NAICS 3341 Enterprise-wide server hardware. This includes hardware, enterprise software, and related services such as warranty and out of warranty repair. The Forest Service is currently pursuing a complete set-aside of this requirement for 8(a) procurement under the USDA Bringing Rural America Venture Opportunities (BRAVO) program. Information on this program can be obtained at: http://www.usda.gov/procurement/business/osdbu.html#bravo. ***paragraph*** NAICS 5133 A single point of contact End-User Support Service. The Forest Service intends to procure these services by issuing a task order against an existing GSA contract. The task order will be based on a performance based statement of work and the period of performance will be two years with award term available to be earned by the contractor which could extend the contract for as much as five years total performance. Award will be made on a best-value basis. ***paragraph*** Place of performance: Nation-wide including Alaska and Hawaii and remote sites. ***paragraph*** The Forest Service plans to award BPAs to fulfill all these requirements to capable GSA schedule holders except as noted. Additional information may be obtained at the USDA Forest Service Computer Base Virtual Reading Room located at http://www.fs.fed.us/business/computer_base/. This site will be available no later than Wednesday, August 7, 2002.
