- Description
- The government intends to add C-38A aircraft by supplemental agreement to the existing, sole source, C-20 Engineering Support Services (ESS) contract, F34601-01-C-0008, with Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation (GAC) under the authority of FAR 6.302. The procurement of ESS from GAC will supplement the logistics centers engineering capabilities in providing support of the C-38A. The C-38A are missionized versions of the FAA certified and maintained commercial aircraft Model 1125A Astra SPX business jets manufactured by Israel Aircraft Industries (IAI). Engineering Services for the C-38A aircraft including recurring and non-recurring engineering support and a Field Service Representative. Support includes, but is not limited to: 1. Investigation and evaluation of accidents/incidents and service related deficiencies. 2. Support in resolving Material Deficiency Reports. 3. Accomplishment of feasibility studies, special studies, and laboratory analysis. 4. Performance of system and sub-system tests. 5. Preparation of engineering proposal/cost estimates. 6. Performance of system and sub-system engineering and fabrication/testing of prototypes. 7. Determination of impact of all proposed hardware changes. 8. Preparation of safety evaluations and analysis. 9. Preparation of new drawings and revisions to existing drawings. 10. Updating files and other engineering data. 11. Attendance at technical meetings and Flight Manual Review Conferences. 12. All not previously stated engineering services required to maintain the C-38A. 13. On-site Field Service Representative to provide technical assistance and guidance to support C-38A operations and maintenance. The C-20 ESS contract duration is 10 years (one basic year and nine one-year options). The C-38 ESS is planned for the remainder of the eight one-year options. Anticipated award date will be 30 September 2002.
