Description
The Office of Public Health and Science, Office of Minority Health, through the Program Support Center plan to award a 12 month sole source simplified acquisition to the Center of Behavioral & Community Health Studies, Graduate School of Public Health, San Diego State University, 9245 Sky Park Court, Suite 110, San Diego, California 92123. The anticipated award date is August 22, 2002. The purpose is the Office of Minority Health (OMH) is launching a project to develop a comprehensive report on the current state of cultural competence in the licensure of healthcare professionals. The results of the project will assist OMH in formulating policies to address the inclusion of cultural competence content in the licensure process of healthcare professionals. OMH is seeking a contractor to develop a comprehensive report on the current state of cultural competence in the licensure of health care professionals. In this context, "cultural competence" includes the degree to which major national health care licensure examinations and other procedures include: 1)content valid questions that address human diversity, and 2)initial and on-going validity checks designed to assess whether examination procedures and/or artifacts have any adverse impact on members of linguistically and culturally distinct groups. The report will serve to identify current systemic strengths and weaknesses. In addition, it will identify existing legal, policy, and other barriers that impede assessment of, and improvement in the above areas. Finally the report will make recommendations as to policies, standards, and procedures likely to improve cultural competence in licensure examinations. The Proposed Simplified Acquisition Action Is for Supplies and Services for Which the Government Intends to Solicit and Negotiate with Only One Source under Authority of Far 6.302. Interested Persons May Identify Their Interest and Capability to Respond to the Requirement or Submit Capability Statement Within Seven(7)Days after the Date of Publication of the Notice. A Determination by the Government Not to Compete this Proposed Simplified Acquisitions Based upon Responses to this Notice Is Solely Within the Discretion of the Government. Information Received Will Normally Be Considered Solely for the Purpose of Determining Whether to Conduct a Competitive Procurement. No solicitation is available.
