Description
This posting extends the following Market Survey date to 15 Aug 02 and identifies the logistics support as the Exchange & Repair (E&R) of existing FAA Line Replaceable Units (LRUs) for the DVRS/DVR2 Program. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma has a requirement for the logistics support (E&R) of the DVRS and DVRS2, LRUs, which is part of the National Airspace System (NAS). The main component of the DVRS/DVRS2 is the NiceLog Digital Voice Logging System, which provides continuous recording and retrieval of audio received from telephone, radio, intercom, and microphone sources. The equipment replaces the analog voice logging tape recorders at several types of operational FAA facilities. The contemplated E&R contract will be for one base year period with four one-year option periods to be exercised at the sole discretion of the FAA. NiceLog is a proprietary commercial product line designed and manufactured by NICE of Israel. The technical documentation, processes and procedures required to procure, repair, and restore the LRUs to the FAA are proprietary to Litton Advanced Systems/Denro Systems through a licensing agreement with NICE, the original equipment manufacturer (OEM). Potential sources must provide documentation to the FAA evidencing proof for rights to use the data from the OEM. Statements that data will be obtained or that specifications or drawings will be developed are not acceptable. Only those responses providing the required documentation in response to this market survey will be considered, prior to further action by the FAA. Interested parties, who can comply with and meet all of the requirements called out in this market survey, must respond no later than close of business 15 Aug 02. Responses and/or questions are to be directed to Mark Melendez, Contracting Officer, 405-954-8071, e-mail: mark.melendez@faa.gov, Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), NAS, Automation & Facilities Acquisition Division (AMQ-210), P.O. Box 25082, 6500 S. MacArthur Blvd., Oklahoma City, OK 730125. This market survey shall not be construed as a request for proposal or as an obligation on the part of the FAA to acquire the referenced logistics support for the DVRS/DVR2 program LRUs. No entitlement to payment of direct or indirect costs or charges by the FAA shall arise as a result of submission of responses to this market survey and the FAA?s use of such information. Responders to this market survey may be requested to provide additional details/information based on their initial submittals.
