- Description
- Work includes but is not limited to the following: One step turnkey design and construction of a consolidated education/PME Center at Lajes Field, Azores, Portugal. The contractor will be responsible for the design and construction of the consolidated education/PME Center to include design package submissions at the 35%, 65%, and 100% submittal stages. This project shall include demolition and removal of dorm rooms and single use bathrooms. Work also includes construction of classrooms, community restrooms, auditorium, and replacement of all ceiling, floor, and wall furnishings. The performance period for the project design is 150 calendar days. The period of performance for construction will be proposed by the offerors. The magnitude of this project is between 250,000 and 500,000 dollars. Performance Price Tradeoffs (PPT) procedures will be utilized for this procurement and proposals will be solicited on a firm-fixed price lump sum basis. North American Industry Classification System assigned to this acquisition is 233320. This requirement gives preference to Mainland Portugal and its territories in accordance with the Bilateral Agreement between Portugal and the United States dated 1995. This procurement is unrestricted. All responsible sources meeting the criteria set forth in the Request for Proposal (RFP) may submit an offer, which will be considered by the Government. The request for Proposal (RFP) package will be available for downloading and viewing at Electronic Posting System (EPS) at http://www.eps.gov on or about 12 Jun 02. A pre-proposal conference and a site visit will be held at Lajes Field on or about 26 Jun 02. The RFP package will be available on the Internet only. There will be no hard copies of this solicitation issued. The solicitation, plans, specifications, or drawings will not be provided in a printed paper format; however, the Government reserves the right to revert to paper medium when it is determined to be in the Government?s best interest. All proposals and other normal documents required for the proposal submittal, including amendments to the proposal submittal, shall be in paper medium. All contractors interested in receiving notification of updates/amendments to the solicitation posted on the EPS are urged to enroll on the web site mailing list for this acquisition. Those contractors enrolled will be notified automatically of any changes made to the RFP through their e-mail addresses. No telephone requests will be accepted.
