Description
The United States Coast Guard Maintenance & Logistics Command Pacific in Alameda, CA, proposes to contract for the Dockside Repair of USCGC STEADFAST (WMEC 623), homeported in Astoria, Oregon, during the period of 03 September 2002 through 27 September 2002. A proposed work list includes: disassemble, inspect, overhaul, and reassemble the Motor Surf Boat (MSB) davits, winches, and sheaves and test the davit components; repair structural damage to the aft davit arm including cracked welds, fill holes, realign entire structure, straighten component attachment fittings, and conduct ultrasonic thickness inspection; disconnect, remove, overhaul and reinstall the Crescent Davit Electric Motor; and conduct a hydraulic system flush of the entire Small Boat Handling System. On or about 15 days from issuance of this notice, a Request for Quotations (RFQ), will be issued, in accordance with the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. For Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises, to acquire short-term working capital assistance for transportation related contracts, loans are available under the DOT short Term Lending Program (STLP) at the prime interest rate to provide accounts receivable financing.
