- Description
- The Federal Bureau of Prisons, Federal Medical Center Carswell, Fort Worth, Texas, intends to issue solicitation RFQ#50507-023-2 of a single award for the provision of a Cosmetology Certification Program to the female inmate population. The instructor working under the contract shall be certified by the Texas Cosmetology Commission as a licensed cosmetology teacher and will be required to maintain their teaching certificate. The vocational training program will include, but not limited to, the generalized theories of professional conduct, shampoo and moisturizing techniques, chemical hair relaxing, hair coloring for all types of hair, manicures and pedicures, hair cutting with scissors and razors, facials, sanitation, and related aspects of cosmetology. It is estimated the contract will include a total of two hundred & forty (240) sessions per contract year. A session is defined as one (1) day of seven (7) one (1) hour periods per day not to exceed thirty-five (35) hours per week. The contract period will consist of one (1) twelve (12) month base year and one (1) twelve (12) month option period for renewal. The solicitation will be available on or about August 9, 2002 and will be distributed solely through the General Services Administration's Federal Business Opportunities web site http://www.fedbizopps.gov/. Hard copies of the solicitation document will not be available. The site provides downloading instructions. All future information about this acquisition, including solicitation amendments, will also be distributed solely through this site. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring this site to ensure that they have the most up-to-date information about this acquisition. This acquisition is a Total Small Business Set-Aside. All qualified sources are encouraged to submit an offer which will be considered for the award. The estimated date of receipt of offers is September 10, 2002.
