Description
The Agency for Public Health and Science (OPHS), Office on Minority Health (OMH), through the Division of Acquisition Management (DAM), Program Support Center (PSC), intends to award a 12 month sole contract using simplified acquisition procedures, to the Kaiser Foundation Health Plan, Inc., One Kaiser Plaza, Oakland, Ca 94612. The anticipated date of award is August 09, 2002. The Office of Minority Health is seeking a qualified source to develop organizational processes necessary to implement the Department of Health and Human Services? Cultural and Linguistically Appropriate Service (CLAS) Standards in a health maintenance organization (HMO). The goal of this project is to provide a framework for delivering culturally competent care to diverse populations who are being served by HMOs. The contractor shall complete the following tasks: 1. Develop strategic plan components to implement the CLAS; 2. Develop assessment tools and templates to assess CLAS for HMOs; 3. Develop generic CLAS training curriculum for staff who work in HMOs; 4. Workforce diversity toolkit; and 5. Develop a quality improvement management model to monitor and reassess CLAS implementation activities. The proposed simplified acquisition is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of far 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest by responding to the requirement within 10 days after the date of publication of this notice. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed simplified acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. No solicitation is available.
