Description
Project includes design, fabrication and installation of exhibits for approximately 1,000 square feet of floor space in the Choctaw Visitor Information Center, Hodgen, OK. The purpose of the visitor center is to provide information for visitors to the Winding Stair Mountain National Recreation Area. The goal of the visitor services area is to serve the public by providing a visitor destination point for forest interpretation and environmental education; high-profile information location promoting tourism and recreation opportunities of the Ouachita National Forest and the surrounding area; and an opportunity for visitors to participate in scheduled interpretive programs hosted by the Forest Service and partners. Primary theme for the exhibit will be: Ouachita Mountains - The Unique Landscape of Oklahoma, with the following sub-themes: Winding Stair Mountain National Recreation Area, Recreational Opportunities, Equestrian Opportunities, and a Watchable Wildlife Window. All exhibits must meet the Uniform Federal Accessibility Standards. Special consideration in exhibits must be given to physically, hearing, sight and developmentally impaired individuals. This solicitation will be a Commercial Item Acquisition, Request for Proposals. Proposals will be evaluated on the following criteria in descending order of importance: 1) Past performance of similar projects; 2) Cost; 3) Qualifications and experience of key personnel; 4) Examples of previous and similar projects involving interpretation and design; 5) Ability to demonstrate proficiency in state-of-the-art exhibit fabrication and construction; 6) Ability and resources to fabricate, install, control quality, and manage subcontractors and customer requirements. NAICS code is 541990 and the size standard is $5.0 million. This solicitation is open to both large and small business concerns. Solicitation will be available on this web site on or about August 2, 2002.
