- The US GEOLOGICAL SURVEY (USGS), Western Region Headquarters, Menlo Park, California, requires the services of a qualified organization that has demonstrated ability and programs in place to serve the USGS for implementing the Earth Sciences Internship Program (ESIP). The ESIP provides students and recent college graduates (within one year) pursuing careers in the environmental sciences and related fields short-term internship opportunities with the USGS. The contractor must provide referral and management services to place student interns in USGS projects lasting from three months to two years. The Contractor will not receive payment for referral services separately. No payment will be made unless a candidate is selected. The Contractor shall provide career counseling services, continuous progress evaluation, and maintain an alumni network database. The Contractor shall provide seminars and national conferences to educate and give guidance in career opportunities for individuals pursuing careers in the environmental sciences. The interns will participate in multi-level, multi-disciplinary USGS scientific projects. These projects address relevant societal environmental issues and new earth science research initiatives. The contract will be for a base year with one, one-year option. Multiple awards may be awarded for indefinite-quantity contracts. SEE NUMBERED NOTE NO. 1.
