Description
DESCRIPTION: The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to enter into a sole source purchase order with Center for Workforce Development. The services will be for Expert Support for Business-Education Partnership to increase Science and Technology (S&T) skills of local workforce through a career education pilot program to support regional technology-led economic development. The Center for Workforce Success ("the Center") is uniquely qualified to perform this requirement based on its ties to national and local employers, The Center affiliation with training and education National Association for Manufacturers and, The Centers ability to find and promote workforce solutions for manufacturers in a global economy, and close working relationship with the educational institutions and organizations. The Government anticipates the award of a firm-fixed price purchase order on or about July 30, 2002. The proposed requirement is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations. However, the government will consider all capability statements received by July 30, 2002. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. A Request for Quotation (RFQ) package is not available.
