- Description
- This serves as notification of the Government's intent to exercise an option under Phase II of contract SP0410-01-D-0004 with The Boeing Company. This option aims to demonstrate the SURGE (Supplier Utilization through Responsive Grouped Enterprises) concept for the aircraft sheet metal grouping that was submitted under Phase I of the same contract. This option will serve to further test Phase II of the SURGE theory by testing the third set of parts that were grouped by their manufacturing similarities. The sheet metal grouping is the third and final Phase II grouping to be tested. The Government reserves the right to exercise an option period to extend the sheet metal grouping for one year following the initial one year purchasing period. It is anticipated that the option will be exercised by December of 2002.
