- SYNOPSES MAINTAIN CHIMNEY SUPPORT QTRS 92 This acquisition is being offered for full and open competition subject to the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code of 233210 as well as the Standard Industry Code (SIC) of 1521. Small Disadvantaged Businesses, Women-Owned Small Businesses, Disabled Veteran Small Businesses, and HUBZone certified Businesses are encouraged to participate. This project is located within the National Historic District at F.E. Warren Air Force Base, Wyoming. The floors in historic quarters 92 slope downward towards the central chimney. The apparent cause is that the central chimney settled more than the rest of the structure. Prior attempts to rectify this situation have included, shimming of main support beams to the joists, supplemental foundations, and support framing systems. It has been determined by a recent structural analysis that the structure has not stabilized. This project entails installing an AB Chance drilled Helical Pier System, or equivalent, under the existing central chimney of an historic residence. Access to the chimney foundation is a 5-foot high crawlspace. The drilled piers will be torqued into the subgrade using minimum amount of torque as a criteria for the pier support. Seven piers will be placed around the chimney foundation. Each of these piers will support 12 Kips as a minimum. The installation of the piers must allow for the chimney foundation to be "jacked" back to the residences original position. The performance period for the resultant construction contract award as a result of this solicitation is fourteen (14) calendar days from issuance of a Notice to Proceed. Magnitude of this project is less than $25,000 and the Government has a budget of $20,000. Issue date for this solicitation is anticipated to be on or before 19 July 2002, with a closing date 30 calendar days after issuance. A site visit will be conduct 12 calendar days after issuance of the solicitation. This solicitation is a Request for Quotation (RFQ) - lowest price.
