Description
The National Institute of Standards & Technology (NIST) has a requirement for a wide-angle CCD camera for 35 MM camera port of JEOL 200 CX TEM. The specifications are: Hardware a) Thermoelectrically cooled, low noise CCD camera with at least 1280 X 1024 pixels; b) Camera system must be able to be operated safely up to 200 kV; c) Camera should be capable of operator chosen binning of 1,2,4 and 8 times; d) CCD camera must have both digital and video outputs with video frame rates of at least 15 frames per second; e) Video output must comply with industry standard format and allow live video recording either with supplied software or a user supplied VCR; f) CCD camera must have range of at least 12 bits; g) CCD camera must be able to record both SAD and CBED patterns without streaking or blooming. Thus it must be able to show the central spot simultaneously with all the diffracted spots in SAD as well as the HOLZ lines in the central disk of CBED patterns; h) CCD camera should be capable of both manual and automatic exposure; i) CCD camera should be capable of both manual and automatic background correction; j) CCD camera should be capable of both manual and automatic contrast adjustment; k) Must have a range of exposure settings typically ranging from 0.01 to 100 seconds; l) Camera must be easily rotatable through 360 degrees with respect to the camera axis and allow the capture of images under any desired orientation; m) Camera optical system must be independent of the optical prism assembly required for use in the 35mm port; n) System scintillator must br a high resolution, high definition type, with properties at least equivalent to those of a P 43 phosphor; 0) Camera must have built-in internal shutter so that a TEM shutter is not required; p) Must output to frame grabber operating under Windows OS, preferably at Windows XP, but at least Windows 2000. Computer system: a) OS is Windows based, preferably Widows XP, but at least Windows 2000; b) Intel Pentium 4 CPU; c) CD-R or CD-R/W; d) At least 512 Mbytes RAM memory; e) At least 60 Gbyte ATA Hard drive; f) At least 15" LCD monitor; g) Ethernet; h) Frame grabber compatible with CCD camera. Software: a) Mouse click controllable camera control and image grabbing; b) Image processing with standard Photoshop type capabilities; c) Measurement capabilities. At least lengths and angles; d) Montaging capability; e) Image archiving and f) Red-Blue Stereo. Technical merit as well as price will be used to evaluate offers. As the technical merit becomes more equal, price becomes a greater factor. Procurements under Simplified Acquisition Procedures ($25,000-$100,000) are set-aside for small business unless small business cannot meet the need at a reasonable price.
