Description

Desc. Sources Sought Synopsis: The Bureau of Reclamation requires Inspection and Repair of a Sloping Intake Structure at new Melones Powerplant, Central Valley Project, California. New Melones Power Plant is located in Calaveras County, California, near Tuttletown, about 50 miles east of Stockton. The NAICS Code is: 234990. In accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 19.1305(b) set-aside procedures, the Contracting Officer is issuing this Sources Sought Synopsis to determine if there is a reasonable expectation that offers for this construction service will be received from two or more HUBZone small business concerns, and that award of a contract for such construction service can be made at a fair market price. Should there be insufficient response to this Sources Sought Synopsis by July 18, 2002, a solicitation will be issued based on a price evaluation preference for HUBZone small business concerns in accordance with FAR 19.1307. The work required by this solicitation is the repair and painting of the sloping intake gate, gate stems, gate stem locking device, hydraulic hoist cylinder, gate slot cover, stop log slot cover, trash screen, trash screen carriage, and cable supports; and the replacement of the cathodic protection systems, staff gages, bubbler system hanger bracket bolts, and handrails of the sloping intake structure of the New Melones Power Plant. The magnitude of the proposed project is between $250,000 and $500,000.
