Description
This is a combined synopsis/notice of intent for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are not being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This requirement is being issued as a Notice of Intent under NOI2064. This solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular FAC 01-07. This acquisition will be processed under Simplified Acquisition Procedures and is not a small business set-aside. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code for this acquisition is 334510 and the small business size standard is 500 employees. The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases intends to procure an Innova Enterprise II 651 Argon Ion Laser System with Heat Exchanger from Coherent Laser Group. The laser system will be attached to a Leica Laser Scanning Confocal Microscope. The Leica TCS-SPI microscope is designed ultraviolet ready with the necessary components for the connection of a Coherent designed argon ion laser system. The laser system attached to the Leica Confocal Microscope is a principle piece of equipment utilized to provide specimen illumination. The scientist is labeling their samples with a marker for DNA, the dyes used are DAPI and Hoescht. These dyes require UV light for visualization. The Biological Imaging Facility at the NIAID presently have 1 Leica Laser Scanning Confocal Microscope and a second Leica Confocal Microscope UV ready to have attached a Coherent Argon Laser system. The Innova Enterprise II 651 Argon Ion Laser System is comprised of the following components: 1) innova series V plasma tube, 2) sealed ?mirror integral resonator, 3) scarch-and-peak automated mirror alignment, 4) polarized output, 5) symmetrical superinvar three-rod resonator, 6) automated gas monitoring and fill system, 7) soft-start ignition, reducing EMI during system starting, 8) temperature regulated light feedback photocell, 9) designed to comply with IEC, UL/CSA, and EC92 electrical safety requirements, 10) interchangeable single-phase wide voltage range switching power supply, 11) optional LCD display remote control module, 12) optional RS-232 interface, 13) CE mark compliant, 14) LP-51 heat exchanger, 15) warranty. FOB Point shall be Destination, inside delivery required to Bethesda MD, 20892. This will be a fixed-price contract. The following Federal Acquisition Regulations provisions and clauses apply to this acquisition: FAR 52.212-1 Instructions to Offerors-Commercial Items; FAR 52.212-3 Offerors Representations and Certifications; FAR 52.212-4 Contractor Terms and Conditions-Commercial Items; FAR 52.212-5 Contractor Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statues or Executive Orders-Commercial Items; FAR 52.225-3, Buy American Act also applies.
