Description
The U.S. Coast Guard intends to award a sole source contract modification to Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. of Savannah GA for aircraft maintenance on the USCG C-20B aircraft. The USCG currently has a contract with Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. for maintenance and logistics services on the Coast Guard?s C-20B (Gulfstream III) aircraft to include powerplant, avionics, electrical, hydraulics, and structural repair. The contract is for worldwide scheduled and unscheduled drop-in depot level maintenance actions to be performed in accordance with current and future Gulfstream Aerospace, Rolls Royce Spey engine, subsystem maintenance, and FAA maintenance procedures and requirements, and airworthiness directives. Additionally, component overhaul/repair and the acquisition of spare parts necessary to complete the contracted repairs may be required. The period of performance of the current contract expires 31 July 2002, however, the Coast Guard requires continued coverage for an additional 2 months through 30 September 2002. The two month extension to the Coast Guard?s existing maintenance contract for the C-20B aircraft with Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. will be exercised on a month-to-month basis. After 30 September 2002, the C-20B aircraft will no longer be maintained in Coast Guard inventory. NAICS code is 336411. The Contractor shall provide all facilities, necessary management, supervision, personnel, labor, equipment and materials required for the performance of this requirement. Interested persons should submit a description of their technical capabilities, facilities, and ability to provide worldwide unscheduled maintenance support (including facilities) to Commandant (G-ACS-1B/WM), U.S. Coast Guard Headquarters, 2100 Second Street, SW, Washington, DC 20593-0001, Attn: Wilbert Mann, by close of business on 19 July 2002. SOLICITATION OMBUDSMAN PROGRAM It is the policy of the Coast Guard to issue solicitations and make contract awards in a fair and timely manner. To further this policy, the Commandant has created the position of Solicitation Ombudsman who is empowered to investigate issues raised by prospective offerors and resolve them, where possible, without expensive and time-consuming litigation. Potential offerors who believe that a Coast Guard solicitation is unfair or otherwise defective should first direct their concerns to the cognizant contracting officer. If the contracting officer is unable to satisfy the concerns, the offeror should then contact the Coast Guard Solicitation Ombudsman at the address below: Commandant (G-CPM-S/3) 2100 Second Street, SW, Washington, DC 20593-0001, FAX: 202-267-4475.
