Description
Maintenance and Logistic Command, Pacific proposes to contract the FLIGHT DECK AND HANGAR DECK COATING RENEWAL for USCGC ALEX HALEY (WMEC 39). All work shall be performed at ISC San Pedro, California, during the period of Sept. 10, 2002 and complete Oct 11, 2002. Completion of this work item must be coordinated with the installation of a new helicopter hangar assembly by the US Coast Guard Yard. CGC ALEX HALEY will not be available to shipcheck. The USCGC CHASE (WHEC 718), homeported in San Diego has similar flight deck plan and will be available for ship check from July 17, 2002 through July 22, 2000. Request for Quote (RFQ) will be issued July 22, 2002, with a closing date of 21 August 2002. Offerors are advised that the solicitation, specification and other notifications can also be accessed on the web at: www.eps.gov. A work item is to prepare, prime, and paint the flight deck. The flight deck is coated with an epoxy slip-resistant coasting for aircraft. The work area is defined as the flight deck from frame 26 to frame 43, including everything encompassed by the deck edges and up to the knife-edge of the deck coamings, the deck of the hangar compartment. Total deck area to be renewed is approximately 5600 sq feet. The solicitation is issued in accordance with the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. All responsive sources may submit an offer, which will be considered by this agency. For Women-Owned and Disadvantage Business Enterprises, the Department of Transportation (DOT) Minority, Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization has programs to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged enterprises to acquire short-term working capital assistance for transportation related contracts. Loans are available under the DOT Short-Term Lending Program (STLP) at the prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000.
