Description
NASA/MSFC intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12 and the Simplified Acquisition Procedures set forth in FAR Part 13. This notice is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation, which is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ); quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Offerors are required to use the On-Line RFQ system to submit their quote. The On-line RFQ system is linked above or it may be accessed at http://procurement.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/eps/bizops.cgi?gr=C&pin= . The information required by FAR Subpart 12.6 is included in the on-line RFQ. NASA/MSFC plans to acquire A Critical Flow Venturi Flow Meter with the following requirements: A. Designed and manufactured in accordance with ASME/ANSI MFC-7M-1992. B. Flow rate between 11.35 and 50.00 lbm/sec. C. Nozzle inlet temperature of 100.0 F and pressure between 80.0 and 350.0 psia. D. Nozzle exit pressure to be less than 70.0 psia E. Air flow calibration traceable to NIST standards accuracy better than +/-50.0%. F. Hydrostatic test per ASME Code for pressure piping B31.1. G. Radiographic inspection of all welds per ANSI/ASME B31.1 H. Design must fit within existing facility envelope of 11.3 feet. I. Inlet flange should be 8 inch 300lb. 300 series SS ANSI flange. J. Exit flange should be 16 inch 300 lb. series SS ANSI flange. K. All piping material should be SCH 40 316SS. L. Instrumentation bosses for pressure and temperature measurements should be 1/4-18 NPT. Questions regarding this acquisition must be submitted in writing (e-mail is preferred) no later than 07/12/02. It is the quoter's responsibility to monitor this site for the release of amendments (if any). Potential quoters will be responsible for downloading their own copy of this notice, the on-line RFQ and amendments (if any). An ombudsman has been appointed - See NASA Specific Note "B".
