- Description
- The Boulder Lake Campground contains a Woodland Tradition prehistoric archaeological site, a site that has been evaluated through a Phase II investigation, and in 2002, placed on the NRHP. The Forest Service has proposed to rehabilitate portions of the campground and rehabilitation will involve construction activities within and near some of the archaeological deposits. An agreement has been developed through consultation with the WI SHPO which calls for archaeological excavation (data recovery) within the project's area of potential effect which contain archaeological deposits. The objective of this project will be to conduct a Phase III archeological study (data recovery)to meet cultural resource management objectives as outlined in 36 CFR 800. The project is estimated less than $100,000 and is set aside for small business.
