Description
The U.S. Army TACOM-ARDEC is seeking interested parties for a proposed contractual effort to update exisitng and procure additional full-scale and reduced-scale models that contain section M231 and M232 charges. The 155mm M231/M232 propelling charges known as MACS (Modular Artillery Charge System) are two different propelling charges designed and developed at Picatinny Arsenal, that provide a complete zoning solution for 155MM Artillery applications by using multiples of a basic increment. During development and fielding of the MACS charge, U.S. Army TACOM-ARDEC has previously contracted for the creation of full-scale displays and reduced-scale models of the MACS to illustrate charge construction, packaging and field application. Improvement of the MACS charge over time has resulted in various displays and models becoming outdated. Updating displays and models will regain their usefulness in exhibition and training applications. In addition to the displays and models requiring modification, certain new displays are needed for special applications. The M231 charges are used at lower zones (Zones 1 & 2), while the M232 Charges are used at higher zones (Zones 3 thru 6). The models include renovating or producing Zoning Solution displays, which contain 1/3 scale charge models displayed on a wooden platform that demonstrate the scale charge models depicting the M231 and M232 charge, Destop Training displays (Full scale cutaway) showing the interior of each charge and labeling of respective components, and M231/M232 Packaged Cutaways which are displayed in their metal ammo storage container. Firms with experience in the areas cited above should provide a summary of their company's capabilities including a description of facilities, personnel and past expereience by 11 July 2002. Request that all information be submitted via electronic mail to mrhines@pica.army.mil. Large files need to be compressed using WinZip (http://www.winzip.com). The MACS and their components are on the Militarily Critical Technologies List (MCTL), Aug 1996. Therefore, the MACS TDP is restriced by the Arms Export Control Act (Title 22, U.S.C. Sec 2751) and is subject to DoD Directives 5230.24 and 5230.25. Respondents to this notice will not be notified either of the receipt or the assessment of the information submitted. This market survey is for information and planning purposes only, does not constitute a RFP, and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government. See numbered notes 25 and 26.
