Description
EPA's Office of Research and Development has a requirement for an open-path tunable diode laser trace gas measurement system for its National Risk Management Research Laboratory's Air Pollution Prevention and Control Laboratory in Research Triangle Park., NC. SPECIFICATIONS Measured gases: NH3, C2H2, CO, CO2, and H2S Principle: Tunable diode laser spectroscopy Detectors: PIN InGaAS photodiode operating at room temperature Data rate: 100 Hz Data output: 1 sec to 10 min. averaging times Detection limits: 300 ppmv.m CO/CO2, 0.5 ppmv.m NH3, 2 ppmv.m C2H2, 15 ppmv.m H2S Precision: ?1-0.5% of signal or detection limit, whichever is larger. Accuracy: +/- 5% ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: This system is to combine the output of 3 lasers in a single instrument. The System shall permit lasers to be field changed to measure other gases. The system is to include an 8 channel multiplexer permitting measurement along multiple paths simultaneously. The system shall permit expansion using additional multiplexers and contain an internal calibration cell as part of the instrument. The equipment shall be listed by either Underwriters Laboratories, the Canadian Standards Association,, or some other third party listing agency approved by the North Carolina Building Code Council.
