Description
The Forest Service intends to issue a Request for Proposals to reconstruct the Jawbone Bluff Road (Road 17N05) on the Six Rivers National Forest. Work shall consist of retaining wall construction, placing aggregate base, placing asphalt concrete including an overlay, placing rip rap, dig outs, placement of geotextile reinforcement, installing drop inlets, installing culverts and down drains, repair of culvert inlets, and reconditioning of roadway. Work is anticipated to include blasting for excavation and processing of excavated material to produce the aggregate and riprap quantities. The project includes a base with 1 additive item. To reach the project location from the intersection of Highway 101 and Highway 199 north of Crescent City, California travel on Highway 199 east past Gasquet and Patrick Creek to Little Jones Road (Forest Route 16, road number 17N05). Continue up 17N05 towards Bear Basin to metal gate at milepost 8.4 and beginning of project. Work is expected to begin approximately July 1, with a contract time of 90 calendar days. No pre-proposal tour is scheduled. Price range is between $500,000 to $1,000,000. The project is unrestricted and the NAICS code is 234110. A 20% bid bond will be required with offer. Performance and payment bonds of 100% each will be required of the successful offeror. The Government will award the contract to the offeror whose proposal represents the best value to the Government based on the merits of the proposal for: technical approach, past performance, experience of project personnel, capacity to perform and price. Solicitation documents will be available at this FedBizOpps website (http://www.fedbizopps.gov) on approximately April 11.
