- Description
- The Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC) intends to solicit and negotiate with one source ? NEC Business Network Solutions, Inc for the maintenance of PBGC telephone systems. PBGC currently has telephone systems that are currently under warranty. NEC BNS is the only contractor that can perform the maintenance services and not void existing warranty terms. In addition, all technicians servicing the telephone systems must be NEC and OCTEL Certified. NEC is the only source that has NEC/OCTEL Certified technicians in all of the 12 PBGC site areas located throughout the United States. This acquisition will be processed in accordance with the provisions of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Parts 12 and 13.5. The period of performance for this service is a base period of twelve months with four twelve month renewal periods. See Numbered Note 22 modified to require submission and delivery of capability statement from interested sources by July 10, 2002. However, this is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
